The following was submitted by Lawrence's daughter, Carol V. Pelletier, of St. Francis, ME:
The Pelletier-Connors Family began when Lawrence Pelletier (born 1915) and Isabelle Connors (born 1916) were married on 22 July 1937. They were married in Madawaska, Maine, by Justice of the Peace, John R. Sedgley.
Lawrence worked for Treffle Pelletier, as a store clerk and peddler on the road, from St.John to Allagash, ME. His wages were $6.00 per week.
In 1939 Lawrence moved to Allagash, ME where he started The Allagash General Store. Over the next few years he bought a larger building for the store and built a new home.
He also started the Allagash-Fort Kent Bus Line, with daily trips between Allagash and Fort Kent. He also transported High School Students to the Fort Kent Community High School.
He bought wood for the Great Northern Paper Company and in later years was a Woods Contractor for Great Norther Paper Company until he retired in 1980.
Lawrence "Lull" Pelletier and Isabelle(Connors) Pelletier enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, camping and travelling. Their favorite place was their camp at Glazier Lake, Canada. Their favorite fishing spot was 4th Lake Negro Brook, "The Owls Nest". Their travels took them to Campbellton, NB, Canada, around the Gaspe, Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia. They went to Minnesota, Michigan and California to visit relatives.Their Children are:
Carol Virginia Pelletier b. 13 Oct, 1939; Carol married Clarence Pelletier in St. Francis, ME, on 2 April 1964
Dale Lawrence Pelletier, b. 2 Aug 1941, died 14 Nov. 1955 as a result of a jeep accident, and
Mary Lynn Pelletier, b. 19 Dec. 1944; Mary married LeRoy Martin in St.Francis, ME, on 16 April 1966.
Lawrence and Isabelle(Connors) Pelletier have seven grand children and nine great grand children as of this date, 3 Sept. 2001.
