NOTE: from Kathy Poston, July 2000, and edited by Charles James Peltier in 2003:

Leonard took over the family farm in Chesterfield Township, located half a mile south of Cotton and Sugarbush Roads.

Leonard donated the land for the building of the original Green Elementary school where he acted as one of the first substitute teachers.

His parents, Antoine and Angélique (?Angéline?) lived with him and his family until their death.

The farm was sold in the early 1900's and the family moved to Grosse Pointe Farms where Leonard lived with his son Noah and family. Noah was the gardner for one of the estates bordering St-Paul's Church.

Leonard died in Grosse Pointe Farms in 1923 and Margaret moved to Detroit where she died in 1942. Both are buried at St-Paul's with their son and daughter-in-law (Noah and Martha Freton).
