St-Aubin Church, named in honor of the 7th century bishop of Angers, was built in the late 15th century, using as a foundation the remains of an earlier church destroyed during the Hundred Years War. In addition to its historic value as a church, St-Aubin is also important monument for the french-canadian families whose ancestors lived in the area.
There are stained glass windows and plaques in the church honoring the ancestors who were baptized here as well as individual Tourouvre families who were part of the emigration to Canada.
The commemorative baptismal plaque above honors Tourouvian emigrants who were baptized at St-Aubin Church. The names of Michelle (Michèle) Mabille (May 20, 1592), Guillaume Pelletier's wife, and their son Jean Pelletier (June 12, 1627), have been bracketed by the author.
